Keiichi Inamine / Kochi Shun is a Japanese photographer from Okinawa, recognized for his pioneering work in underground and artistic gay photography. In 1983, he co-founded the production company Creators in Tokyo, producing mail-order nude photo books. After the company dissolved in 1991, he established the Kochi Photography Studio in 1994. Inamine’s iconic photo book “Moonlight” elevates sportsmen as models into ethereal, almost sacred figures, often adorned with gold powder against decayed shrine-like settings, blending decadence and spirituality. His photo book “Portraits of Moments” captures fleeting moments of physical tension, presenting the human body with precision and poetic insight. Since 2000, he has continued exploring the beauty of the Japanese physique through themes like lifeguards and local festivals, maintaining a distinct focus on the interplay between movement, form, and temporal fragility.
